Ongoing training continues in all our zones. We have regular meetings with all our Sentinelles to ensure woman in our villages feel empowered to use their gua teliman cookstove correctly.
This is particularly important as the rainy season approaches. Households generally stockpile 2-3 months of firewood before the rainy season. Increasingly, this firewood is purchased and represents a significant financial burden.
In villages where the gua teliman cookstove is now the method of cooking, households do not have such a financial burden as they don't need to stockpile nearly as much firewood. That is, provided they're using their stoves correctly... hence the importance of regular, effective training.
