While headlines focus on evacuations and uncertainty in Mali, 25 million people continue their daily lives — and so does our team.
Amid fuel shortages, safety challenges, and difficult logistics, the field team successfully completed this week’s Gold Standard verification audit for the Gua Teliman project. From randomly selected households across 5,000 km², women using the stoves, village chiefs, coordinators, and sentinelles shared stories of profound change — safer kitchens, healthier families, and stronger communities. And liberation for the women who previously spent so many more hours on the traditional, smoky 3 stone cookstove.
Their gratitude was unmistakable: the Gua Teliman project continues, even when circumstances test every plan.
This is what carbon finance makes possible — enduring impact in places that might otherwise be left behind. Congratulations to everyone who made this demanding audit possible, planned down to the last litre of diesel. Your resilience and dedication to Malian communities define what commitment truly means.
